Cindy Crawford turns 60: The supermodel still stuns as her kids follow her footsteps onto the runway
One of the most famous faces in fashion, the supermodel-turned-beauty mogul celebrates her 60th birthday today, Feb. 20.

Supermodel-turned skincare mogul Cindy Crawford, who is 60 today, says she intends to “embrace” her landmark birthday, telling an interview in the British media that she’s “loving life” as she prepares to embark on her seventh decade.
“We tend to be too self-critical”
Speaking to OK! UK earlier this month, Crawford said: “When I turned 50, I wrote a book [2015’s Becoming Cindy Crawford] about how ageing can be scary and daunting for a woman, especially if you happen to be in the public eye. I learned to embrace it then and I embrace it now.”
Crawford continued: “We still live in a very ageist world, which is hard, but at the same time we tend to be too self-critical too. I don’t know why that is but you have to push past that, no matter what age you are.”
In an Instagram post on Thursday, she added: “I don’t have any big worry or, ‘Oh wow! Now I’m 60.’ I think that once I kind of got over the hump of being 50, I just realised that there’s still so much to do and learn and grow in front of me. Yes, I love the past - I have had an incredible life. But also, [I’m going] to get up every day and still be curious, still want to learn, grow and feel good in my own skin.”
From catwalk queen to beauty-business boss
One of the most famous figures in the fashion world, Crawford rose to global prominence in the 1980s and 90s, establishing herself among the industry’s ‘big four’ supermodels alongside Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington and Naomi Campbell.
Crawford has walked the runway for an almost endless list of leading labels - although she is perhaps most closely associated with Versace, a fashion house that made her one of its go-to muses. She has also featured on over 1,000 magazine covers, including dozens of appearances on the front of Vogue, a publication referred to as “high fashion’s bible”.
What’s more, Crawford has been the face of iconic advertising campaigns, such as this 1992 spot for the soft-drink company Pepsi:
In 2004, Crawford co-founded Meaningful Beauty - an “age maintenance” skincare line that has gone on to pull in nine figures in annual revenue, according to the financial magazine Forbes. Pledging to “give women self-confidence at every age”, Crawford says of Meaningful Beauty’s mission: “Achieving healthy, glowing skin is a reflection of taking good care of yourself and accepting who you are.”
How much is Cindy Crawford worth?
In 2021, Crawford’s net worth was estimated by Forbes at $225 million, placing her among the U.S.’s 100 wealthiest self-made women at the time. Per Celebrity Net Worth, Crawford and her husband, the businessman and former model Rande Gerber, currently have a combined fortune of around $400m.
“It’s different now. I have my time”
As Crawford turns 60, she says she now enjoys being at a stage in her life where she and Gerber take on a lighter workload - not only professionally, but also as parents.
“Right now, I’m just loving life with my husband and enjoying having adult children,” Crawford told OK!. “I love the fact that I still get to be in front of the camera sometimes and get to travel. But it’s different now. I have my time. My husband has more time. Years ago, we were both so busy. Now we’re really enjoying time for each other and being spontaneous.”
Who are Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber’s kids?
Crawford and Gerber, who have been married since 1998, share two children - both of whom have also become well-known models.
Since his breakthrough a decade ago, son Presley Gerber, 26, has posed for brands such as Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger and Burberry. He also made a memorable appearance alongside his mother in a 2018 Super Bowl commercial for Pepsi, as the pair recreated her ad from three decades earlier:
Presley has collaborated with both Crawford and his younger sister Kaia Gerber, who is now one of the globe’s most in-demand models. For example, the siblings appeared together in this ad for Calvin Klein jeans:
In an interview with People magazine, Kaia said in 2017: “I love working with [Presley] and every time we book a job together I get excited. At first when we were starting out, we used to shoot a lot together and we would just be there for each other, which is important, especially just starting in such a scary industry - to have someone there that you’re comfortable with.”
Like her mother, Kaia has not only worked closely with Versace - mother and daughter have walked the runway together for the Italian firm - but has also been hired by a who’s-who of other high-end fashion clients.
“I think maybe she scared me enough”
Before her catwalk debut, for Calvin Klein at New York Fashion Week in 2017, Kaia says her mom resorted to an unorthodox method of preparing her then-16-year-old daughter.
“I remember right before I was going to do my first ever fashion show, she sat me down and had my whole family gather around, and played me compilations of models falling,” Kaia recalled last year, during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
“I think to be like, ‘This is the worst-case scenario.’ I was like, ‘I didn’t even know you could fall this many different ways.’ But knock on wood, I haven’t ever fallen. I think maybe she scared me enough that I didn’t fall.”
Kaia has now also established herself in Hollywood; since securing her first big screen role in Damien Chazelle’s 2022 epic Babylon, she has accumulated credits in several other prominent films, such as Emma Seligman’s 2023 black comedy Bottoms and Max Minghella’s 2024 horror picture Shell. She has featured in major television series, too, notably earning a recurring role in the Apple TV comedy-drama Palm Royale.
