FIFA Heroes: The arcade-style soccer game shaking up the genre at MWC 2026
FIFA’s new offering focuses on speed and fantasy across mobile devices and consoles with cross-play. ‘Heroes’ is FIFA’s first new video game in four years.

The world of soccer video games is about to get a major shake‑up. After years dominated by ultra‑realistic simulators, MWC 2026 delivered a surprise twist. At Lenovo’s booth, we got an early look at FIFA Heroes, a bold new title from Enver Studios that puts fast‑paced fun, flashy visuals, and accessibility front and center.
Built by veterans from EA Sports and Konami, this game isn’t trying to recreate a full 90‑minute match — it’s all about two‑minute bursts of pure 5‑on‑5 chaos.

What makes FIFA Heroes different from traditional simulators?
According to its developers, FIFA Heroes embraces a full arcade identity. Forget realistic physics — here, special abilities completely rewrite the rules of the pitch. Players can pull off moves like:
- Teleporting dashes while dribbling
- Fire‑charged power shots
- Magnetic tackles that yank the ball back
The goal is simple: short, high‑energy sessions with enough competitive depth to reward skillful play. FIFA Heroes launches as a free‑to‑play title, with core progression unlocked through gameplay. Monetization focuses strictly on cosmetics and seasonal passes, ensuring the competitive balance stays intact.
“The last thing we wanted to create was another football simulation game,” Kyle Joyce, director of publishers Solace explained. “We wanted to imbue FIFA Heroes with fast-paced gameplay that will appeal to a whole new generation of players. We’re able to deliver a football experience that resonates with fans everywhere. We can’t wait to share what’s next.”
Who are the stars of this new experience?
One of the game’s biggest draws is its wildly diverse roster. FIFA Heroes features official licenses for current stars expected at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, and Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez. It also brings back legends like Diego Maradona.
But the real curveball is the addition of cultural and mythological icons. You can build teams that mix elite footballers with superhero characters such as:
- Thor, bringing thunderous strength to the field
- Sun Wukong, the Monkey King known for supernatural agility
- Official mascots from the 2026 World Cup hosted by the U.S., Mexico, and Canada
It’s a roster designed to spark imagination and keep matches unpredictable.

When and on what platforms will we be able to play it?
FIFA Heroes will launch Tuesday April 28 for mobile and PC before coming to Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch later this spring.
One of the best pieces of news for the community is that it will feature cross-platform and cross-play, allowing friends to play together regardless of the console or device they use.
Furthermore, thanks to a strategic partnership with Motorola, the game will come pre-installed on select devices and will feature special optimization for the Motorola razr fold. On this foldable device, players will enjoy an expanded view of the field and ergonomic controls tailored to its 8.1-inch screen, offering a unique tactical and visual advantage.
