How Kate Middleton earned TikTok cred while networking for Early Childhood initiative

Kate Middleton is hard at work in pursuing initiatives for the Early Childhood Foundation, an initiative which she founded and that is so near to her heart.

While meeting Queen Margrethe of Denmark, the Princess of Wales gracefully and subtly — but not subtle enough — heel-toed herself closer to the queen.

Queen Margrethe warmly extended her arm to gesture for Kate to be in the picture, and the princess stealthily shuffled her feet to be slightly closer to the Queen of Denmark for the photo opportunity as she smiled brightly at the cameras.

The ‘Princess Shuffle’ video

A video of what netizens have dubbed the ‘Princess Shuffle’ shows Kate standing approximately a foot away from Queen Margrethe, until she smoothly shuffles her toes several times to find herself right beside the queen.

The TikTok video, posted Monday, has more than 1 million views and 50,000 likes.

And in heels!” one fan wrote. “I would definitely get caught on the carpet and wipe out.”

I’m going to do that next time I’m taking a photo with someone,” mused another person.

Princess Kate’s early childhood initiatives

The video was taken in 2022 while Middleton was visiting Copenhagen on behalf of her children’s charity. Queen Margrethe of Denmark offered the princess an official welcome at her residence, Christian IX’s Palace, alongside the queen’s daughter-in-law, Crown Princess Mary.

It was a rare solo visit for the princess, but her motivation was for her foundation that helps little children under the age of five.

Middleton admires how Denmark had “created an enabling culture for early childhood development,” Kensington Palace said in a statement at the time, “specifically how it has promoted infant mental wellbeing alongside physical health, and how it harnesses the power of nature, relationships and playful learning in the first five years of life.”
