Kanye West has once again managed to annoy the people he shares the room with, and this time he’s done it to people who don’t have either a country or language in common with him. The rapper, 46, has angered Italian war veterans for his past remarks about his liking of Hitler and the Nazis.

According to the Daily Mail, the outburst has come around due to a concert that is rumoured to be planned in Italy. Nothing has been confirmed, but an outside venue is being built at the RCF Arena in the city of Reggio Emilia would hold around 80,000 people, sparking rumours of a gig.

What did Kanye West say about Hitler?

And it is something that has angered local war veterans, who do not want to host the rapper who has had such open and positive views on an abhorrent and lamentable topic, one that is an incredibly sensitive subject in the European nation.

I see good things about Hitler” Kanye said to Alex Jones on his conspiracy-fuelling podcast, “every human being has something of value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler.... They did good things too, we are gonna stop dissing the Nazis.” At another point, Kanye simply said, “I like Hitler.”

West somewhat acknowledges hurt caused by racist comments

Later, in a shock move that nobody saw coming, it fell to Piers Morgan to play the good guy and he challenged West on his anti-semitic comments, with the Heartless singer saying “Yes [I knew it was racist]. I fought fire with fire.” When asked whether or not he was sorry he said “No. Absolutely not.”

Recently, one of Kanye’s old flames, actress Julia Fox said in her memoir, Down the Drain, called their brief relationship a “sick, twisted game” and said that West was incredibly controlling and “that this grand gesture [was] nothing more than a publicity stunt.”
