In 2022, Kanye West saw his fortunes plummet after losing a multi-million dollar deal with Adidas due to a series of anti-Semitic statements. The company announced in October of that year that it was ending its lucrative partnership with West for the Yeezy collection.

According to Forbes, the Adidas deal was valued at around $1.5 billion and without it, West’s fortune was reduced to $400 million.

Although it was expected that, after the deal fell through, Adidas would no longer release new Yeezy trainers, the company would release the remaining inventory throughout the year. Recently, the brand announced the release of the Yeezy Boost 350 v2 “Steel Gray” and Ye has a lot to say about it.

Kanye blasts Adidas

Following the release of the new Yeezys, the rapper lashed out on his Instagram account against Adidas. “Anybody who loves Ye wouldn’t buy these fake Yeezys. I never made these colors ways. I’m not getting paid off of them and Adidas is suing me,” West wrote.

“Yall see me have my children hidden from me or see an actual Fortune 500 company rape one of your heroes in real life. Don’t know nobody say nothing or do nothing as far as the system goes, What yall gonna do now, take my album down again, freeze my accounts again, threaten people to not work with me again? All the new nonapproved 350′s are cooorny.”

In a video shared on his account, the singer also claimed that the trainers released by the company were “fake” and alleged that Adidas was suing him for “$250 million”.

“Not only are they putting out fake colors, but they’re suing me for $250 million and they’re also not paying me for the shoes they’re putting out that have my name on them,” he said.

“And they’re using contract clauses and 50 years of business experience to rape an artist, one of your favorite artists, right in front of yall in broad daylight.”

According to Billboard, as of Monday afternoon, there is no evidence that Adidas has filed any kind of lawsuit against West or his companies.
