Kate Hudson shares details on upcoming wedding to Danny Fujikawa

Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa have been engaged since 2021, and had a child together in 2018.

Update:
Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa have been engaged since 2021, and had a child together in 2018.

Kate Hudson has been engaged for almost two years, but she is still deliberating over the kind of wedding she wants.

The actress and her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa, got engaged in 2021. They had a child together in 2018 and have been together ever since, as they raise four-year-old Rani Rose.

Hudson told the hosts of the ‘Table for Two’ podcast that the one thing she knows for sure is that it will be a destination wedding. The actress elaborated that if her family and friends wanted to see her marry the 36-year-old Fujikawa, they would have to travel somewhere far to get there.

“It’ll totally be a destination wedding,” Hudson revealed. “It’ll be such an adventure that people will really want to have to come to show up. To me, those are always the most fun weddings. Like, if you really want to be there, you’ll be there.

“If someone’s like, ‘I can’t really be there,’ then I don’t want you there. That’s all I got right now. That’s all I got for the wedding,” the actress joked.

The wedding details to be determined

Hudson explained that planning a wedding is an arduous task, which has been made more difficult because she can’t decide on the kind of wedding she wants.

“Right now, planning a wedding feels insane,” Hudson confessed. “But I’m excited to plan a wedding, and I go back and forth between a small wedding and a large wedding.”

After explaining that her first wedding to Chris Robinson, the singer of The Black Crowes, was a very small gathering, she mused that it might be exciting to have a big bash the second time around.

“So there’s a part of me that wants the big bash, you know?” Hudson said. “There’s, like, two sides to me: the big bash or the small, intimate [wedding]. I think somewhere in there I’m going to come up with both.”

Another factor Hudson is considering is her future husband’s Japanese heritage, and how she would like to incorporate it into the theme of the wedding somehow.

The ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ star said the couple even discussed whether they should have a full on Japanese traditional wedding to “honor” the heritage of Fujikawa and Rani Rose.

“We do sometimes go back and forth with the traditional Japanese wedding ceremony, which would be really beautiful and quite emotional for Danny, seeing as his dad is gone,” Hudson said.
