In the premiere of season 3 of ‘The Kardashians’ Khloé spoke candidly about her experiences with using a surrogate to give birth to her son, born in July 2022.

Khloé gave birth to her first baby, her daughter True, born in April 2018 naturally, but for her second child, opted to follow the path of her sister Kim in using a surrogate, after Kim suffered from complications from her earlier two pregnancies.

But during a confessional scene, Khloé got real about the effects surrogacy has had on her as a mother.

Khloé gets candid

“When I went to the hospital, that was the first time it really registered, and it has nothing to do with the baby,” she said, explaining that she had “buried my head in the sand during that pregnancy”, and that she felt she was in a “state of shock from the entire experience in general.”

It was after the embryo transfer of their son–which her ex and father of her two children, Tristan Thompson insisted upon–that news that he had fathered a child with another woman while engaged to Khloé broke out.

“I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby, and then I take the baby and then I go to another room and you’re separated. It’s such a transactional experience because it’s not about him,” she continued to explain.

“I wish someone was honest about surrogacy and the difference of it,” she said, as this was her first experience in dealing with surrogacy. “That doesn’t mean it’s bad — it’s great, but it’s very different.”

Khloé candidly revealed that because of the surrogacy, and not carrying her son herself, she felt “less connected” to him in the months after his birth than she did with her daughter, True.

“Kim said hers was easy. This is not easy,” she said, referring to her sister who used a surrogate for her youngest two children with ex-husband Kanye West: her daughter Chicago, born in January 2018, and son Psalm, born in May 2019.

Since the birth of her son, Khloé has gone to great lengths to keep him out of the spotlight as much as possible, sharing a few pictures of him on social media, and not officially confirming his name, which many believe is Tate.

Khloé has also shut down rumors that she and ex-Tristan are getting back together.

“Stop pushing this narrative. It’s tiring,” she said in an Instagram story post. “But I suppose You guys will continue the narrative you want regardless of what I say so what’s the point,”
