Per Distractify, 697 contestants have now taken part in the CBS show since it premiered on US television back in 2000. As things stand, 43 have won the contest, with two taking the spoils in more than one season.

Tony Vlachos and Sandra Diaz-Twine have earned status of ‘‘Survivor king and queen’ among the show’s viewers, having each been victorious twice: Vlachos in seasons 28 and 40, and Diaz-Twine in seasons 7 and 20.

In season 46 of Survivor, which has again been hosted by the show’s long-time anchor Jeff Probst, 18 castaways were stranded on the islands of Fiji.

The season 46 contestants still in contention to become ‘Sole Survivor’ are: Charlie Davis, a 26-year-old law student from Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts; Maria Shrine Gonzalez, a 48-year-old parent coach from Dallas, Texas; Ben Katzman, a 31-year-old musician from Miami, Florida; Kenzie Petty, a 29-year-old salon owner from Gibraltar, Michigan; and Liz Wilcox, a 35-year-old marketing strategist from Luther, Michigan.

In tonight’s episode, this quintet will be whittled down to a final three, before the winner is decided by a jury of contestants already voted off this season.
