Shawn Levy’s ‘All the Light We Cannot See’ will release its first four episodes in November.

Mark Ruffalo is set to star in Netflix’s upcoming series, ‘All the Light We Cannot See’, a television adaptation of the popular novel of the same name by Anthony Doerr, which won a Pulitzer prize.

Netflix released the trailer Wednesday, with the four-episode series to be available for streaming November 2, 2023.

Who is in the ‘All the Light We Cannot See’ cast?

The series, directed by Shawn Levy, will portray the significance of human relationships, and how hope can be found in the midst of trials, war, and turmoil.

Mark Ruffalo is joined by actors Louis Hofmann, Lars Eidinger, Hugh Laurie, and Marion Bailey.

Aria Mia Loberti, Hollywood rookie, co-stars as Marie-Laure LeBlanc.

The newly released trailer

The trailer has no dialogue, the video rather portrays several action scenes from the film set to the classical music piece by Debussy, ‘Clair de Lune’.

As the music plays, the trailer reveals Nazi presence in Paris during the time of World War II, and then several violent and intense clips show the trials of many of the characters, though there is a theme of hope weaved throughout the two-minute video.

What is the series about?

The story, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, follows blind teen Marie-Laure LeBlanc and her father, who find a way to escape Paris — with a large, precious diamond, which they fight for their lives to keep out of Nazi clutches.

After finding refuge with a relative, a resistance activist who uses the radio to broadcast illegal messages, young Marie-Laure opens lines of communication with a Nazi regime radio broadcaster.

Though it’s unclear how much of the novel will be portrayed in the four episodes of the show, as there may be more seasons to come, the novel goes on to follow the unlikely friendship between the two for the next 10 years.
