Marvel confirms Vanessa Kirby, Chris Hemsworth and more for Avengers: Doomsday
Marvel Studios announced the cast for “Avengers: Doomsday” on a livestream. The film features a star-studded cast and is set to hit theatres on May 1, 2026.
Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Doomsday” is set to hit theatres on May 1, 2026. The film is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, who also directed four other Marvel films, including 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War” and 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame.”
Last year, Marvel announced at San Diego Comic-Con that Robert Downey Jr. would return to the franchise as Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom after previously having played Iron Man/Tony Stark.
In a livestream on Wednesday, they announced the full cast for the film, and it includes several stars, including Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Vanessa Kirby, Patrick Stewart, Pedro Pascal, and Tenoch Huerta.
The film will be followed by “Avengers: Secret Wars”, which is set to premiere one year later, on May 7, 2027.
Full cast of “Avengers: Doomsday”
- Chris Hemsworth: Hemsworth will return as Thor, the God of Thunder, whom he's played in nine movies already.
- Vanessa Kirby: Kirby will debut as Sue Storm//Invisible Woman in “Fantastic Four: First Steps,” premiering on July 25, 2025.
- Anthony Mackie: Mackie is set to return as Sam Wilson/Captain America. He recently starred in “Captain America: Brave New World".
- Sebastian Stan: Stan will play Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in "Thunderbolts", set to premiere May 2, 2025, and again in "Avengers: Doomsday".
- Letitia Wright: Wright will again play Shuri/the new Black Panther after playing in four other Marvel movies, including “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”.
- Paul Rudd: Rudd is back again as Ant-Man/Scott Lang.
- Wyatt Russell: Russell will return a John Walker/US Agent in "Thunderbolts" and "Avengers: Doomsday" after appearing in the series “Falcon and the Winter Soldier”.
- Tenoch Huerta Mejia: Huerta Mejia will play Namor again after first taking on the role in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever",
- Ebon Moss-Bachrach: Moss-Bachrach makes his Marvel debut as Ben Grimm/The Thing in “Fantastic Four: First Steps” before playing the same role in “Avengers: Doomsday".
- Simu Liu: Liu returns as Shang-Chi from his 2021 stand-alone film "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings".
- Florence Pugh: Pugh returbs as Yelena Belova after starring in “Black Widow” and “Hawkeye”m and will also be in “Thunderbolts”.
- Kelsey Grammer: Grammer showed up as X-Men's Hank McCoy/Beast in the postcredits scene of “The Marvels" and will play the character in "Avengers: Doomsday".
- Lewis Pullman: Pullman will play Bob/Sentry first in “Thunderbolts" and then in "Avengers: Doomsday".
- Danny Ramirez: Ramirez returns to play Joaquin Torres/Falcon after starring in “Captain America: Brave New World".
- Joseph Quinn: Quinn will play Johnny Storm/Human Torch in “Fantastic Four” and “Avengers: Doomsday.
- David Harbour: Harbour returns as the Red Guardian in “Thunderbolts" and then in "Avengers: Doomsday".
- Winston Duke: Duke returns as M’Baku after taking on the role in both “Black Panther” movies and the last two “Avenger” movies.
- Hannah John-Kamen: John-Kamen returns as Ava Starr/Ghost in “Thunderbolts" and "Avengers: Doomsday".
- Tom Hiddleston: Hiddleston returns as Loki after being in several Marvel projects, including the two-season “Loki” series on Disney+.
- Patrick Stewart: Stewart is back again as Professor Charles Xavier after taking on the role in the “X-Men” movies and “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness".
- Ian McKellen: McKellen returns as Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto in after portraying the character in several “X-Men” films.
- Alan Cumming: Cumming returns as Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler after making his Marvel debut in “X2: X-Men United.”
- Rebecca Romijn: Romijn returns as Mystique after starring in “X-Men, X2: X-Men United,” “X-Men: The Last Stand” and “X-Men: First Class and Joan in The Punisher".
- James Marsden: Marsden returns as Scott Summers/Cyclops after taking on the role in four “X-Men".
- Channing Tatum: Tatum will return as Remy LeBeau/Gambit, which he played in “Deadpool & Wolverine".
- Pedro Pascal: Pascal will first appear as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” premiering July 25, then again in in “Avengers: Doomsday”, and finally in “Avengers: Secret Wars" on May 7, 2026.
