Taylor Swift is stealing the headlines the world over after the release of her eleventh studio album: ‘The Tortured Poets Department’. This new project, which surprised everyone by coming out as a double album with a total of 31 tracks, was released last Friday, April 19.

Prior to its release, Swifties believed that the project would address Taylor’s former relationship with actor Joe Alwyn. However, fans were shocked to discover that much of the material was actually inspired by Matty Healy, with whom she had a brief romance in 2023 (with rumours abound that the two have known each other as far back as 2014).

Which Taylor Swift songs are about Matty Healy?

Among the tracks believed to have been inspired by The 1975′s vocalist are “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived”, “I Can Fix Him” (No Really I Can)”, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, ‘But Daddy I Love Him, ‘The Manuscript’ and, of course, the standout single on the album ‘Fortnight’, which marks the artist’s first collaboration with Post Malone.

Healy hasn’t heard Swift’s new album

While several celebrities have expressed their opinion on Taylor Swift’s new album, there is one who has remained tight-lipped on the subject, until now: Matty Healy.

On Wednesday afternoon, April 24, a reporter from Entertainment Tonight asked the singer as he was walking down the street, questioning him directly about TTPD.

“Hey Matt, how do you rate the diss track that Taylor made you?” the reporter asks, to which Healy responds “What diss track?”. Once the reporter clarifies that he’s referring to one of Swift’s new songs, Matt admits he hasn’t heard the album, but he’s “sure it’s good.”

Why did Matty Healy and Taylor Swift break up?

While Taylor and Matty never made their relationship public, the duo were caught kissing during a date at Casa Cipriani in New York City in May 2023. Moreover, Healy was spotted at some ‘The Eras Tour’ concerts, showing his support of the superstar.

According to various reports, the courtship reportedly lasted only a month, while the reason for the breakup is attributed to their different schedules and a lack of compatibility.

“Taylor and Matty broke up. They are both extremely busy and realized they are not really compatible with each other. Taylor’s friends want the best for her and they are not surprised that their relationship is fizzling out, as she recently got out of a long-term relationship,” an insider revealed at the time.
