Mike White gives Howard Stern a hint about where the next ‘White Lotus’ might be filmed and when he will start writing

A range of destinations worldwide have been touted as potential venues for season four of HBO’s hit TV series The White Lotus.

But judging by remarks made by the show’s creator, it appears we can cross any South American locations off the list of candidates.

Speaking on The Howard Stern Show recently, Mike White revealed he was preparing to jet off to Colombia - but clarified that the trip was not a location-scouting mission for The White Lotus.

However, while White all but ruled South America out as a series venue in the immediate future, he said he was open to taking the show to the continent at some point.

“Maybe one day we could do it there”

“I don’t think we’re going to go to South America - I think probably not,” the 54-year-old said, when asked by Stern whether his Colombia visit was related to the production of season four.

“But I’ve never been there. Maybe one day we could do it there.”

White added that he expects to start writing the script for the next instalment of his award-winning anthology series “this summer”.

Variety confirmed in January that The White Lotus has been renewed for a fourth season, with filming slated for 2026.

Where could The White Lotus season four take place?

A black-comedy murder mystery set in the fictional ‘White Lotus’ chain of hotels, the show’s three seasons so far have all unfolded at sun-soaked, beachfront resorts.

After kicking off in Hawaii in 2021, the series headed to Italy’s Sicilian coast for its second season in 2022. A seaside resort in Thailand was then chosen as the backdrop to season three, which reached its climax in April.

Speaking after the conclusion of the third season, White seemed to express his reluctance to return to a beachside locale for the next The White Lotus.

“For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of the crashing waves of rocks vernacular but there’s always more room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels,” White said, per Deadline.

Parade has reported that Egypt and Mexico are the favorites to host season four, as show runners seek out “somewhere completely new”.
