Why Mila Kunis wouldn’t let Ashton Kutcher skip ‘That 90s Show’
Mila Kunis refused to take no for an answer when it came to her and husband Ashton Kutcher reprising their roles as Jackie and Kelso in ‘That 90s Show’.
When the opportunity came to reprise their roles in the hit sitcom ‘That 70s Show’, Mila Kunis was determined to see the idea come to fruition. Kunis and husband Ashton Kutcher appeared as Jackie and Kelso in the sequel show, ‘That 90s Show’, which is currently on Netflix.
The show, developed by Bonnie Turner, Terry Turner, Mark Brazill, and Lindsey Turner, is set in Wisconsin, where the original series takes place. Kelso and Jackie, high school sweethearts, appear 15 years later, married, and with a teenage child.
Kunis, who played Jackie on the popular television series that launched her career, has a great appreciation for the show given that’s where she and Kutcher met.
Kutcher recently revealed in an interview with Esquire that Kunis was so keen to do the show, that she actually left him no choice — even after he had delayed commitment based on the development of the script.
According to Kutcher, Kunis said, “You know, we owe our entire careers to this show. It doesn’t matter what the script is, we’re doing it.’”
The flashback to the ‘That 70s Show’ set
When asked how it felt to be back on the set, Kutcher said the experience brought back a lot of memories, as well as appreciation and wonder.
“I don’t know if it brought up a lot of emotions as a lot of memories. But I would say that if there was one core emotion that came up, it would be a sense of appreciation,” the 44-year-old actor said.
“That we had that as our home for as long as we had it as our home, and that it became a launch pad for both of our careers.”
“And then a sense of wonder, like how the hell did we get here?”
Kutcher on marriage to Kunis
Kutcher shed some light on his marriage to the ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ actress, and how much he admires and values her input.
“The thing about Mila that made our relationship accelerate was that I had always admired her,” he said. “Her talents, her skills, her gifts. There was also this fact: We already knew all of each other’s dirt.”
“My wife is so much cooler than me,” he added.
