Neither Richard Gere nor George Clooney: This Hollywood star is thinking about moving to Spain “We need a change”

Spain is an idyllic destination. A country that has everything – above all, it appeals to almost anyone: rich food, countless corners for those seeking peace and quiet, and just as many for those looking to party. It is also an obvious place to retire.

Several Hollywood stars have already discovered this for themselves, with Richard Gere among the most recent, alongside his wife, Alejandra Silva. But he is far from the only one to have considered living in Spain. Another star – or rather, the family of another star – is thinking along the same lines: Alec and Hilaria Baldwin.

The dancer and entrepreneur has gone viral in recent days after raising the possibility of moving to Spain with the actor and the rest of their family, posting messages such as “Merry Christmas y Feliz Navidad” on social media.

Hilaria was criticized five years ago over her shifting accent, and accused of misrepresenting her Spanish background. She has always insisted that she grew up speaking Spanish and spent a great deal of time in Mallorca, where her parents have lived since 2011.

In comments to the British tabloid the Daily Mail, she was unequivocal, saying the family is open to relocating and stressing that “we need a change.” “All my family lives in Spain, so I think it’s a possibility,” she said.

The family currently splits its time between New York and the Hamptons, but they want more – specifically, a new “adventure.” “I can live in many different places, but I think our children want to have their own rooms. That’s harder in New York. We have a lot of kids, so I think we need an adventure. I don’t know where we’ll go, but we need an adventure.”
