'Night Agent' has just premiered its third season with great worldwide success; will there be a fourth season?

The Night Agent was one of Netflix’s biggest bets for February, and it’s safe to say the gamble paid off. The political‑conspiracy thriller’s third season has skyrocketed to No. 1 on Netflix in 38 countries, according to streaming‑analytics site FlixPatrol. And based on how quickly the new episodes of agent Peter Sutherland are climbing, that momentum may only grow in the coming days.

A global hit—and still rising

Beyond topping the charts in 38 countries, The Night Agent has also landed in the Top 3 in 73 countries, cementing its status as one of Netflix’s most successful returning series. In Spain, for example, it’s sitting comfortably at No. 2, just behind the local hit Salvador.

With the show’s popularity surging, fans are already asking the big question: Will there be a Season 4? Netflix hasn’t made anything official yet, but there are already strong hints about where the story could go next. Season 3 introduced noticeable structural changes, leaning even more heavily into classic political‑thriller territory.

A major absence—and new faces

One of the biggest surprises this season is the absence of Rose Larkin, played by Luciane Buchanan—a central figure in the first two seasons. According to the show’s creators, her departure isn’t necessarily permanent. In her place, Season 3 brings in new characters played by Callum Vinson, Ward Horton, and Suraj Sharma.

Co‑creator Shawn Ryan has already confirmed that the writers are deep into developing future storylines: “We’ve been working on the plot for a while. We have some scripts, and we’re moving forward. Because of the tax credit, there’s a deadline to start filming, and right now we’re on schedule.”

When could Season 4 arrive?

If Netflix gives the green light, fans shouldn’t expect Season 4 before mid‑2027, following a timeline similar to previous seasons.

The show’s official synopsis on Netflix sets the tone: “Peter Sutherland, a low‑level FBI agent drawn into a secret U.S. intelligence program, must uncover a political conspiracy to stop a terrorist attack.”

All three seasons of The Night Agent are now streaming on Netflix.
