One Direction will not be reuniting on ‘Late Late Show’

James Corden denies rumors that One Direction will reunite for the final episode.

Rumors swirled about One Direction, supposedly on a hiatus since 2016, getting back together for a reunion on the ‘Late Late Show’ with James Corden. Fans thought the band might get back together as a big surprise for the talk show’s final episode.

The rumors heightened when celebrity gossip source Deuxmoi and UK media outlet The Mirror reported that all five of the former boyband members might join Corden for a sentimental reunion.

One Direction, made up of Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne, split seven years ago to pursue individual music careers. Each of them has built a loyal following since the split, and all five have come out with albums.

The band has never had a full, public reunion since the split. Unfortunately for fans, it seems there is not much truth to the ‘Late Late Show’ rumor.

James Corden shuts down rumors

Though Corden is a big fan of One Direction, the ‘Late Late Show’ host had to take to Twitter and let audiences know that he would sadly not be bringing the boys back together.

“Nobody loves the boys more than us … but this story just isn’t true,” Corden tweeted alongside a screenshot of the article posted by The Mirror earlier that day.

One Direction members still keep in touch

In a recent interview with Esquire, former 1D band member Niall Horan mentioned that he still keeps in touch with his former bandmates. From time to time, Horan sends them his unreleased music, asking for their thoughts.

“This time I sent it to Louis, and he gave me his honest opinion on it, which is always handy,” Horan revealed.

“We’ve released enough songs over the years, so we know what’s decent and what’s not… All the 1D boys and artists alike, I’ll always try and send it around and get everybody’s opinion.”
