It has been announced that Danan, an actor who spent four years on the UK soap ‘Hollyoaks’, has died.

The British actor and reality-TV star Paul Danan has died aged 46, his management company has confirmed.

Danan is best known for his role as Sol Patrick on the long-running British TV soap Hollyoaks.

He appeared on the program, which has aired on UK TV since 1995, for four years between 1997 and 2001.

Danan, a native of Chigwell in Essex, was also a contestant on the UK reality shows Celebrity Love Island and Celebrity Big Brother.

“A beacon of light”

It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of Paul Danan at just 46 years old,” Independent Creative Management said in a statement shared with media outlets on Thursday.

“Known for his television presence, exceptional talent, and unwavering kindness, Paul was a beacon of light to so many.

“His untimely departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him.

“During this difficult time, we kindly request respect and privacy for Paul’s family, friends, and colleagues.”

Danan’s cause of death has not been revealed.

Danan due in court over drugs charge

According to PA Media, Danan had been scheduled to appear in court in the UK on Thursday, for a plea hearing relating to charges of drugs possession.

PA Media says he had also been accused of driving under the influence of drugs.
