Peter Greene found dead aged 60: what was the cause of death of actor who played Zed in Pulp Fiction?
He played roles that struck fear into audiences around the world, somewhat contrasting to his real personality.

Peter Greene, the character actor best remembered by many for playing the terrifying Zed in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction, has been found dead at his home in New York City. He was 60.
Greene was discovered inside his Lower East Side apartment on Friday after a welfare check was carried out. His manager, Gregg Edwards, confirmed the death, and said concerns were raised when music was heard playing inside Greene’s apartment for more than a day without response, prompting the check that led to the discovery. Edwards said he had spoken with the actor earlier in the week and described the news as a shock. Green was born in Montclair, New Jersey, in October 1965.
What roles did Peter Greene play?
Although Greene became widely known for portraying violent and unsettling characters, like Zed, those close to him said his real personality stood in stark contrast to the roles that defined his screen image. Edwards said Greene had a warmth and generosity that rarely made it to the surface of his performances, despite his reputation as one of Hollywood’s most convincing villains.
Greene’s breakout year came in 1994, when he appeared in two high-profile films. In Pulp Fiction, his portrayal of Zed left an indelible mark despite limited screen time. That same year, he played the slick criminal Dorian in The Mask, opposite Jim Carrey.
Earlier in his career, Greene earned critical praise for his leading role in the 1993 indie drama Clean, Shaven, where he played a man with schizophrenia suspected of murder.
His résumé also included memorable supporting roles in The Usual Suspects and Training Day, among dozens of film and television appearances.
Interest grows on Peter Greene’s cause of death
As family, friends and fans mourn the loss of Greene, Edwards stated that no cause has been determined or publicly released. Authorities have not announced whether foul play is suspected. Once more info is made available we will share here.
