Queen Elizabeth ll’s granddaughter, Princess Eugenie has announced that she and husband Jack Brooksbank are expecting their second child together.

The royal couple, who are parents to son August Philip Hawke, born in February 2021, revealed both online and in a statement released by Buckingham Palace that they are thrilled to finally announce Eugenie’s pregnancy and the expansion of their family.

“Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are pleased to announce they are expecting their second child this summer,” the palace wrote. “The family are delighted and August is very much looking forward to being a big brother.

As for the Princess’ announcement, she took a more modern approach, sharing a photo taken by Brooksband on Instagram of their son August kissing her stomach.

“We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer,” she wrote.

This is the couple’s second child together, and who will become the 13th child in line for the British throne. It will also be the first child born in the royal family after the passing of Queen Elizabeth back in September 2022.

History of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank

The now 32-year-old and Brooksbank first met in 2010 when they were both on a ski trip in Verbier, Switzerland. Although they haven’t said much about their relationship as they like to keep their personal life quiet, Eugenie did open up during their engagement interview saying it was “love at first sight.

“We met when I was 20, he was 24,” she said. “[We] fell in love. We have the same passions and drive for life.”

Seven years after they met Brooksbank popped the question and Eugenie admits she was still surprised even though they had been together for quite some time.

“The lake was so beautiful. The light was just a special light I had never seen. I actually said, ‘This is an incredible moment,’ and then he popped the question, which was really surprising even though we have been together seven years,” she said.

I was over the moon. [It was a] complete surprise. But it was the perfect moment, we couldn’t be happier.”

The happy pair ended up getting married at Buckingham Palace on October 12, 2018 and have since grown as a couple and a family.
