Although Rina Sawayama has made her successful acting debut as the lead actress in ‘John Wick: Chapter 4,’ she is sticking to her roots as a pop singer. The artist is going on tour for the fourth time ever with her ‘Hold The Girl: Reloaded Tour,’ kicking off this summer.

The tour will be the second tour she embarks on in support of her ‘Hold the Girl’ album which was released in September 2022. The album had 13 solo tracks and follows the release of her debut album ‘SAWAYAMA’ which was released in 2020.

Reloaded tour

According to Sawayama, the new tour will be based upon the original ‘Hold the Girl’ tour but will be given revamped costumes and stage designs. The original international tour had 41 dates and ran from October 2022 until late February 2023.

The upcoming tour will only travel throughout North America, beginning on June 9, in North Adams, Massachusetts, and concluding on October 9, in New Orleans, Louisiana. The tour dates include festival performances at Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza.

So far, the tour has 12 dates, ten in the US and two in Canada. ‘Hold the Girl: Reloaded,’ will include special quests, Magdalena Bay, Empress Of, and Tom Rasmussen.

The tour’s presale will begin at 10 AM local time on March 29 and general ticket sales will begin at 10 AM, local time on Friday, March 31, 2023, on rina.online.com.

Acting Debut

The singer also has a newfound success in acting. She made her acting debut this year by taking on the role of Akira in the latest ‘John Wick’ sequel.

Akira is described as the daughter of the Osaka Continental Hotel Manager, who is an old friend of John Wick. Akira is the concierge at her father’s hotel.

Director Chad Stahelski recently spoke to NME about his choice in casting Sawayama in the role. He reached out to her after seeing her music videos, they had a Zoom call and met in person almost 24 hours after.

He explains, “She flew over, met Keanu, met myself, and her enthusiasm and professionalism… She was just great and she asked a lot of questions. We put her with the stunt team. Again, her enthusiasm just nailed it. We knew we had the right person.”
