Scarlett Johansson has shed light on what it was like to meet up with fellow Marvel star Jeremy Renner following his serious snowplow accident back in January.

In an interview with Variety, the ‘Black Widow’ star revealed that her and Chris Evans recently visited Renner as he continues his recovery.

The 52-year-old has regularly shared updates on his condition since the January 1 accident which left him with more than 30 broken bones when a snowcat weighing 14,330 pounds after being hit and run over.

Johansson details her meeting with Renner

Johansson says she was “very upset” when she first heard the news of Renner’s accident, but that she was very happy to see him.

“I was honestly so f---ing happy to see him,” said Johansson. “I didn’t know if I was ever going to see him again. To not only see him again but to see him thriving and in such an amazing space, mentally.

“He’s a very spiritual person in general and a very soulful person. And you can see that in his work. It comes through. He has such a depth to him. And I just was so happy to see that he is full of life and light, and he’s also hilarious. We laughed a lot.”

Evans also shared what it was like visiting Renner, adding: “No tears at all. A lot of laughs and smiles and hugs. Leave it to Jeremy to take something this potentially tragic and turn it into something so inspiring.”

‘The Avengers’ joke about Renner’s incident

She later added that once it became clear Renner was on the road to recovery, their ‘Avengers’ costars (Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo) began to joke about the incident in their group chat.

“On the Avengers text chain, we’re like, ‘Okay, you beat us all. That’s it. You won.’ That’s like real superhero stuff. It’s unbelievable,” she said.
