Rihanna gets support from friends and former singing partner Shakira
Riri’s friend and previous collaboration partner, Shakira, added her voice to the sea of support as Rihanna prepares to take the stage Sunday afternoon in the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
The Kansas City Chiefs line up against the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night at State Farm Stadium in Arizona. The game is expected to reach a global audience of almost 200 million viewers, making it a significant comeback platform for the ‘Umbrella’ singer, who just had her first child with A$AP Rocky in May 2022.
Rihanna’s old gal pal Shakira posted a Twitter message to encourage her friend before the big show. The post contained a sweet photo of the two pop queens laughing and having a good time together.
“Remembering good times and wishing you the best vibes for tonight’s show, Rih!” Shakira’s caption read.
Shakira and Rihanna
Many fans hoped Shakira would be making an appearance at Rihanna’s Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show, but so far there is no evidence of that happening.
Back in 2014, Shakira reportedly sought out Rihanna to sing with her on the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ singer’s track, ‘Can’t Remember to Forget You’.
Notably, that hit song was the catalyst which sent Shakira’s career back into orbit, as the English-language song marked Shakira’s return to the music scene. Soon after she released her hit album, ‘Sale el Sol’.
Shakira performed in the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show alongside other heavy-hitting female pop star Jennifer Lopez.
