Sophie Turner shares shock letter showing that she planned to live in England with Joe Jonas
Sophie Turner revealed a letter that showed she had planned to move to England with Joe Jonas, along with their children.
Sophie Turner’s lawsuit filed in order to take her children to England is constantly seeing new details come to light. In the judicial documents presented this week that have been obtained by Page Six, the actress shared a letter from Joe Jonas that showed the concrete plans that she had with the singer to take their children to England.
The member of the Jonas Brothers wrote the note on June 16 in an effort to persuade a landlord to sell them a property in Oxford just a few months before filing for a divorce from Turner. In the letter to the landlord, he wrote “when my wife and I decided we were going to spend more time in the UK and search for a permanent home, our daughter expressed three unwavering requirements: having chickens, a pony and a Wendy house.”
Jonas wanted to ‘cruise to the pub with friends’ on a boat
While many of the houses we viewed met this criteria”, the letter continued, “the moment we turned the corner and caught sight of the charming blue shutters adorning [redacted], we experienced a sense of magic unlike anything we had felt before.”
Jonas also gushed about owning a boat, presumably cruising down one of England idyllic waterways : “I have been completely charmed by the idea of dropping my children to school on the boat and being able to spend a leisurely afternoon cruising to the pub with friends on my very own boat”. In case you were wondering about the practicalities of that idea, in 2022, a House of Commons Committee report on the state of UK rivers concluded that no river in England was free from chemical contamination.
‘We can envision our children growing up here’
His dreams continued, as Jonas continued to fantasise about his new home, patting the landlord on the back regarding the design of the “forever home”, which would be a perfect setting for a recording studio. “We could tell that your family have truly loved living here and we can envision our children growing up here and making this our forever home... I really think Sophie and I will be able to look after [redacted names] and for many years pay homage to the magic you have created here.”
So moved was the landlord at Jonas’ penmanship that an offer was accepted on the property and the couple placed a deposit. According to the court documents, the sale of the house in Oxford is set to go through on December 2 of this year. In a shocking development, this goes against the information received by Page Six, which claims that “house is in escrow and the sale “never closed.”
Turner disputes court claim to rule on divorce
But it was too late: the sale of the couple’s Florida mansion was already up for sale that same month, and the actress says much of the family’s personal belongings were “shipped” to the UK between May 5 and July 31.
Turner’s argument is that because neither she nor Jonas are no longer full-time residents in Miami, the city’s court should not have jurisdiction over their pending divorce and as a result Turner wants the case dismissed. She also says that she has asked the father of her children to return them to England, something which he has “refused”.
Willa and Delphine, the two children, are currently in New York in what Turner calls “temporary accommodation”.
