Will there be a Beast Games season 2? This is everything we know so far about MrBeast’s game show
As Season 1 of Beast Games ends, we explore the potential of a second season, focusing on serious legal issues that may threaten the show’s future.

Jimmy Donaldson, the man behind Mr. Beast, runs one of the most popular YouTuber channels of all time, cultivating a massive audience around the world.
Known for putting together large-scale challenges where competitors go head-to-head for cash and other expensive prizes, many are wondering if the Beast Games will return for a second season. The first season, which has just wrapped up, featured 1,000 players who competed for a $10 million prize. This year’s winner was Jeffrey Randall Allen, who, after taxes, is looking at about $5 million in cash. The show was available on Amazon Prime Video, not on Mr. Beast’s YouTube channel, where he has hosted similar competitions.

Legal issues and the prospects of a second season of Beast Games
Though the program was streamed by millions, allegations of mistreatment have put the prospect of future seasons at risk. The complaints, which have turned into legal challenges, were brought on behalf of the contestants as well as the crew that worked on the show. In September 2024, a class action lawsuit brought on behalf of several cast members was filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court. According to the filing documents, parts of which have been redacted, the contestants alleged that Mr. Beast and Amazon did not pair “fair wages, or even bare-minimum-legal working conditions,” noting that it was their “labor comprised the core commercial value of Beast Games.”
“Instead, Defendants employed superior bargaining power to coerce the Contestants to sign unconscionable contracts with illegal terms and illusory obligations and also knowingly mischaracterized the Contestants to avoid Defendants’ employment obligations under California law,” argues the legal team representing the contestants in the class action suit. Though the season was marketed as a competition between 1,000 players, the case argues that it was never Jimmy’s intention, as the high labor costs for paying so many contestants would have made the production ineligible to claim lucrative tax credits in Nevada worth an estimated $2,252,523.
The female contestants particularly and collectively suffered as a result of Defendants’ actions. The Beast Games work environment systematically fostered a culture of misogyny and sexism where Production Staff did nothing
Court documents
The competition was inspired by Netflix’s Squid Games; the contestants believe the similarities were taken too far. The suit claims that they “were fed sporadically and sparsely” and that they were denied access to hygiene products and medical care. The suit, which was filed before the season premiered, continues to move through the courts and could impact Amazon’s willingness to sponsor a second season. Earlier this month, Jimmy was interviewed on the Colin and Samir podcast, and he was clear that he hoped the series would be renewed and that he was looking to get started on production. However, no confirmation has come from Amazon, which could leave the Mr. Beast team to return to YouTube or seek another partner.
