Taylor Swift announces ‘The Anthology’, the second part of ‘The Tortured Poets Department’: how many songs does it have?
Like previous albums, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ is a two-parter, with additional tracks released in a second album: ‘Anthology.’ What do we know so far?
Taylor Swift has delighted her fans by announcing that her album, released on Friday, 19 April, ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ is a two-parter. The second half, ‘The Anthology,’ will be her next record. Writing on X, formally known as Twitter, the popstar said, “It’s a 2 am surprise: The Tortured Poets Department is a secret double album.”
How many new songs are on ‘Anthology’?
This concept is not new to Swifties. ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore,’ released in 2020, and are also related albums, with the two works sharing characters, themes, and styles. Unlike the two albums released in 2020, Swift opted to make ‘Anthology’ available immediately, adding an additional fifteen new songs to the highly anticipated release for the global music sensation.
Post Malone has a big fan in Swift
The musical superstar did announce that the first music video for her latest album will be released on Friday at 8 p.m. ET.
The video is for the song ‘Fortnight,’ which features Post Malone, an artist whom Taylor says she really enjoyed working with on this latest project. ‘Fortnight’ is the first song on the album. When posting about it on social media, she wrote about Post Malone, saying that “because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates just stick in your head forever.”
For Swfit, a fan of the multigenre artist, working with Post Malone allowed her to “witness that magic come to life first hand.” She hopes that her fans will enjoy the collaboration as much as she did.
