The latest accusation against Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs: a $10 million sexual battery lawsuit alleging he dangled a woman off a balcony
The 55-year-old record producer is facing another, fresh legal battle after a lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Legal wrangles, accusations and lawsuits continue to pile up for disgraced music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
The 55-year-old rapper and record producer is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, facing a multitude of serious charges ranging from sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy to transportation to engage in prostitution.
P Diddy trial set for May 2025
He was arrested at the Park Hyatt Hotel in New York City on September 16 and detained at a special housing unit before appearing court faced with charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. He has pleaded not guilty to those charges and his defense is preparing for his trial, set for May 5 2025.
Combs has been the subject of a lengthy investigation by the Homeland Security Investigations agency earlier this year, which included searches of the musician’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami.
Since then he has been denied bail three times - most recently on Wednesday, when things turned even worse for Combs. Bryana ‘Bana’ Bongolan, a fashion designer, filed a 17-page lawsuit against the musician in Los Angeles. Among the many allegations in the lawsuit are: sexual battery, infliction of emotional distress and false imprisonment.
Combs allegedly dangled victim over 17-story balcony in LA
It reads: “On or about September 26. 2016, Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs sexually battered Ms. Bryana ”Bana’ Bongolan, dangled her off of a 17-story-high balcony. and then slammed her into the patio furniture on the balcony,” in the luxury Los Angeles apartment of the Bad Boy Records founder’s ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, with whom she was staying at the time.
“Mr. Combs’ threats that he was the ‘motherf*cking devil,’ and that ‘he could kill’ her were intended to terrorize, intimidate, and instill fear,” the complaint continued. “Therefore when he forcibly groped her breasts, dangled her from a balcony and battered her, she reasonably believed that Mr. Combs’ assault was him making good on his threats.
“The only purpose of dangling someone over a balcony is to actually kill them or to intentionally terrorize them and rob them of any concept of dominion over their own bodily autonomy and safety. It should be no surprise that is exactly what happened to Ms Bongolan".
Combs’ legal team issued a statement dismissing Bongolan’s claims: "Mr. Combs firmly denies these serious allegations and remains confident they will ultimately be proven baseless. He has unwavering faith in the facts and in the fairness of the judicial process. In court, the truth will come to light, demonstrating that the claims against Mr. Combs are without merit“.
Bongolan is seeking $10 million in compensation. Lawsuits typically take bewteen one to two years to go to court, meaning that Combs could face himself in courtrooms on both coasts next year.
