That’s so fetch!

Almost two decades on from the first showing of Mean Girls, the original cast of the movie have reunited to star in an epic marketing campaign for shopping giant, Walmart, in their Black Friday promotional material.

The reunion of Mean Girls comes weeks after Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chalbert were caught recording a project together in Los Angeles, California, something which set fans into overdrive as they even suggested that the band were getting back together for a second part to the film.

Who stars in the Walmart Mean Girls commercial?

The final product made its debut on Wednesday, November 1 and it showed us what modern life is like for the girls of North Shore High School.

According to the video, Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) is now a school guidance counsellor, while Karen Smith (Amanda Seyfried) is a weather reporter. Gretchen Wieners (Lacey Charbert) is a mother of one of the new Mean Girls.

As well as mentioning the Walmart deals, the commercial also makes reference to some famous scenes from the film, such as the Christmas presentation of Jingle Bell Rock or the typical “that’s so fetch”, as said by Gretchen.

Why is Regina George not in the Mean Girls commercial?

The reunion of the main case has caused a huge wave of euphoria on social media, but the absence of Regina George, played by Rachel McAdams, has caused a significant reaction, with many fans disappointed that the actress does not appear in the commercial.

For now, the presence of the actress has not yet been confirmed in any Mean Girls-related promotional material. However, Walmart will release another new commercial with the Mean Girls cast every Wednesday until Black Friday, so the fans who have the desire to see Regina George once again can keep their fingers crossed.
