The actors swap stories at a Los Angeles high school while joking about their uneven record on the court.

Timothée Chalamet and Adam Sandler talk basketball, movies and reveal another Hollywood actor who “balls”

Under the dim lights of Fairfax High’s gym, Timothée Chalamet and Adam Sandler spent Saturday evening trading memories about films, fame and the slightly chaotic pickup games they keep finding themselves in.
The event, hosted in front of an enthusiastic crowd, felt more like a laid-back reunion than a formal Q&A, with the pair drifting easily between career milestones and their shared love of basketball. The latter grabbing our attention the most.
Chalamet laughed that their on-court collaboration has mostly seen losses, recalling a time when two teenagers absolutely ran them off the floor. Sandler nodded, adding that one of those youngsters later turned up as his waiter.
From there, Sandler let slip the night’s most unexpected revelation: George Clooney, his co-star in Jay Kelly, is an excellent pick-up player.
“He’s fantastic,” Sandler said, remembering a full-cast game at a rented YMCA during Clooney’s Saturday Night Live hosting stint.
The pair also revisited their early encounters and the films that shaped them, with Chalamet praising Sandler’s dramatic work and joking about paparazzi swarming whenever they shoot hoops. Chalamet also teased that he had wrapped the next Dune installment just four days earlier.
