Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2024: Where and when is it and what models will walk the runway?

Founded in 1977, Victoria’s Secret is synonymous with lingerie. The original five stores soon in the US became many more as under new owner Les Wexner in 1982, more than 350 stores opened in the United States with the brand racking up sales of $1 billion by the early 1990s, when Victoria’s Secret became the largest lingerie retailer in the United States.

In 2008, Victoria’s Secret expanded internationally, with retail outlets within international airports, franchises in major cities overseas, and company-owned stores throughout Canada and the UK. Despite seeing competition grow in the past decade, especially from the athletic leisure and underwear, the brand still has more than 1,000 stores worldwide and even today, Victoria’s Secret remains the largest lingerie retailer in the United States.

Fashion show

From 1995 through 2018, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was a major part of the brand’s image, featuring an annual runway spectacle of models promoted by the company as fantasy Angels and became an annual fixture in the fashion calendar.

By 2011, the budget for the fashion show was $12 million, up from the first show’s budget of $120,000 and in 2019, Victoria’s Secret canceled its runway show for the first time.

Despite a series of rumours in the past few years suggestion the show was to reemerge, in July 2021, the company said there were plans to relaunch the show, but without the Victoria’s Secret Angels and no re-launch dates offered.

Fans of the brand were delighted to hear the announcement in mid-May of this year that the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is back and will be staged for the first time since 2018 in NYC (where the company’s head office is located) with a social media post claiming ‘We’re back’ over a soundbed of “" target="_blank">Looking Real Good’ by Lunaluxe.

At present, we know that Tuesday, 15 October is the date earmarked for the event but as yet, no further details have been given on where the show will be staged in the Big Apple.

Secret Fashion Show: confirmed models

Despite not yet confirming the venue for the long-awaited VS Fashion Show, the company has revealed a series of the models who will be taking part at the event.
