‘House of the Dragon’ is back

House of the Dragon returns with new a handful of cast members - Clinton Liberty stars as Addam of Hull, a “dragonseed” with Valyrian ancestry while Jamie Kenna plays Ser Alfred Broome, who has a pivotal role in the war to come, as well as returning cast members: Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best and Steve Toussaint. We can’t divulge any more but the trailer was released on 14 May and the show airs on HBO Max on 16 June.

Four days later on 20 June, Slave Play. Not A Movie. A Play an adaptation of Jeremy O. Harris’ thought-provoking, genre-bending play written during his time studying at Yale which gained rave reviews during his recent sell-out run on Broadway. “It means a lot because I was a kid who didn’t see any access for myself in Broadway. I didn’t think there was a space for me there”. Slave Play follows three interracial couples who undergo therapy when their relationships start to founder. Slave Play received Tony 12 nominations - breaking the previous record for a non-musical play.

Other releases include Disciple, a Bill Teck-directed rock documentary, which takes a behind-the-scenes look at E Street band guitarist and activist Stevie Van Zandt, told through the eyes of those who were able to get close up and personal to him: Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Eddie Vedder, Bono, Maureen Van Zandt and Darlene Love. “At the end of the day, Steve is a true believer,” The Boss emphatically notes. Disciple premieres on Saturday 22 June.
