What did Travis Kelce’s mom say about his romance with Taylor Swift?
The NFL star’s mother has revealed that spending time with Taylor Swift is like being in “an alternate universe”.
Travis Kelce’s mother, Donna, has shared details on her thoughts regarding the rumoured relationship between her son and Taylor Swift, as well as revealing what it’s like spending time with the pop star.
During an appearance on the podcast Got It From My Momma, the mother of the NFL player said that being close to the singer during recent Kansas City Chiefs games this season has been a surreal experience.
Donna said to Jennifer Vickery Smith, the podcast presenter, that she felt like “she was in an alternate universe” as it is something that she’s “never been involved in before”.
Kelce’s mother labels situation ‘a wild, a wild ride’
Travis’ mom also said that the past few weeks have been a “whirlwind” as she shared her feelings on the insane level of media coverage the whole thing has received.
“I thought it would be over at that point, but it seems to just continue, and every week just seems to trump the week before,” she said on the podcast. “So it’s really kind of wild, a wild ride.”
She did also comment on the huge amount of Taylor Swift fans, or Swifties, as they’re known, who are now taking an interest in NFL, saying it’s “pretty cool” that young girls are showing interest in the sport.
Kelce has done ‘more good for football than a PR firm’
As well as recognising the increased popularity, Donna also mentioned the economic impact the relationship is having for the sport, sating that “all I can tell you is that the NFL is laughing all the way to the bank, you know what I’m saying? Good for them. They’re getting the ramifications of everything. I can tell you this, that they’ve told me personally that the Kelce family has done more good PR for football than they could have paid a $1 million to a PR firm.”
Despite the hopes and wishes for everyone in NFL and the world of Taylor Swift for the two to get together officially, Travis Kelce’s mom was reserved when commenting on the seriousness of the couple, saying they are “just getting to know each other,” adding that right now the relationship is “nothing too serious”.
