Dua Lipa celebrated her 28th birthday with film director boyfriend Romain Gavras and surrounded by family members and friends in Ibiza this week. The singer documented her birthday bash by posting a series on Instagram of herself with guests including her younger sister Rina and dancing to the Gypsy Kings’ Bamboléo with French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus.
In another image posted on X, she was seen concentrating before taking her turn during a game of pétanque and later that evening the 40+guests sat down for a poolside meal, laid on by the host.
Her birthday coincided with the news that her production company Radical22 will produce the new Disney+ documentary series Camden, which looks at the London music scene and how the neighborhood has inspired, influenced and nurtured some of the UK’s top talent and also attracted others as adopted sons such as Public Enemy MC Chuck D, Chic’s Nile Rodgers and the Black Eyed Peas. Other artists who will appear in the series include Mercury Prize-winner Little Simz, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, producer Mark Ronson, Soul II Soul DJ/producer Jazzie B, Libertines frontman Pete Doherty, Boy George and Questlove.
The series will be directed by Asif Kapadia, who directed the 2015 documentary about another of Camden’s most well-known denizens, the late Amy Winehouse. Toby Trackman, Yemi Bamiro and Sarah Lambert meanwhile will direct individual episodes.
