Find out which surprise songs Swift performed on night one in Philadelphia.
Taylor Swift kicked off her ‘Eras Tour’ stop in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Friday night, performing at a sold out Lincoln Financial Field.
As she’s done at every tour show so far, Swift performed two surprise songs for the audience.
What surprise songs did Swift perform?
For the first surprise song of the evening, Swift performed ‘Gold Rush’, which is from her 2020 album ‘Evermore’.
“I wanted to start out with this one in Philly because there was sort of a — I don’t know how large the debate was, but I did see the debate,” said Swift in reference to the “Eagles T-shirt hanging from the door” lyrics in the song.
“I saw some people wondering if it was the band the Eagles or the team the Eagles. And I love the band the Eagles, but guys, like, come on, I’m from Philly.”
For the second surprise song of the evening, Swift performed ‘Come Back...Be Here’ from her 2012 album ‘Red’.
“I take requests if they are polite and decently worded,” Swift told the crowd, adding that the request for the song came from special guest Phoebe Bridgers.
Swift delights fans after returning to her home state
The show was one of three scheduled for the weekend, with Swift returning to her home state as she was raised in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania.
Swift took the stage as Lesley Gore’s ‘You Don’t Own Me’ played, before kicking off the night with ‘Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince’ and ‘Cruel Summer’, both of which are from her 2019 album ‘Lover’.
After performing another two songs from the album, Swift addressed the crowd.
“Whether you are aware of it or not, you have walked into my hometown show,” she said.
She added that after spending her “whole childhood watching with your Dad, watching Eagles games on Sunday,” that even in her “most outrageous dreams,” she never thought she’d be playing a sold-out show in the team’s stadium.
