Which surprise songs did Swift perform on night three in Philadelphia?
Taylor Swift wrapped up her ‘Eras Tour’ stop in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sunday night in what was the third of three shows at Lincoln Financial Field.
As she’s done throughout her tour, Swift performed two surprise songs for the audience.
What surprise songs did Swift perform?
On Sunday, Swift took fans back to her 2008 album, ‘Fearless’, and performed ‘Hey Stephen’ as the first surprise song.
“I had a few really nice, fun people ask me to do this one,” Swift said.
Swift shares special story ahead of second surprise song
For her second surprise song, Swift performed ‘The Best Day’, which is also from ‘Fearless’.
Given the performance took place on Mother’s Day, Swift shared a touching story about how she secretly recorded the track.
“I secretly recorded a song on ‘Fearless’,” Swift told the crowd, adding that she was 16 or 17 at the time and that it was tricky to get the song done without her mother knowing. “It was very sneaky and fun.
“I wrote this song just compiling these sort of core childhood memories I had of not just her as a mother but her as a friend.”
She later played the sweet song for her mom, Andrea Swift, for the first time, while showing her the video of personal family footage set to the track that she edited together herself, and asking her: “Did you like the song?”
“It’s such a beautiful song. Where did you find it? It sounds exactly like the things we went through” her mom replied, not even knowing that Taylor had written a song about them.
“I was like, ‘Mom, I wrote it and recorded it secretly, it is our memories,” Swift explained to her, while adding that it moved Andrea to tears.
“It was the sweetest thing ever because I just think she couldn’t have comprehended that I would write a song about the two of us.”
Swift then admitted that the song gets her emotional as well, and that she would do her best to get through it without getting choked up.
