Who is 2024 Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel?

Jimmy Kimmel wears many hats in the entertainment world, showcasing his talents as a comedian, actor, host, screenwriter, and television producer. He’s best recognized as the executive producer and host of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on the ABC network.

His involvement extends beyond his late-night show, having been part of productions like ‘The Man Show’ and ‘Win Ben’s Steins Money.’ Notably, Kimmel secured an Emmy win in the Best Variety Special (Live) category for his work on ‘Live In Front Of A Studio Audience,’ specifically for the episodes featuring Norman Lear’s classics, ‘All In The Family’ and ‘The Jeffersons.’ Here he is in talk show mode.

How many times has Kimmel presented the Oscars?

Kimmel took the reins as the Oscars host in 2017, 2018, and 2023, earning an Emmy nod for Best Special Class Program during his inaugural hosting in 2017. That year marked a memorable Oscars moment when the Best Picture award mix-up had ‘La La Land’ mistakenly announced instead of the actual winner, ‘Moonlight.’ His 2018 hosting stint also earned him an Emmy nomination, this time for Best Variety Special (Live).

In 2023, Kimmel faced the challenging task of steering the ceremony, stepping into the void left by the absence of a host at the 2022 awards. The previous year’s awards had gained notoriety for the widely publicized altercation between Chris Rock and Will Smith.
