The 76th Emmy Awards will be celebrated this weekend, in which the industry will honor the best in American prime time television programming from June 1, 2023, until May 31, 2024.

Canadian actor Eugene Levy and his filmmaker son Dan Levy have been announced as the ceremony’s co-hosts - the former is a four-time Emmy winner, taking home his first award in 1982. He has also been nominated 12 times during a television career than has spanned half a century.

Dan Levy has picked up the same number of Emmys during a much shorter time in the industry - the 41-year-old picked up three awards in 2020 for Schitt’s Creek and Happy Ending.

Meryl Streep up for a fourth Emmy award

Back in July, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences released the complete list of nominees for the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards at a ceremony held at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, California. FX series Shogun leads the way when it comes to nominations with 25, closely followed by The Bear (23) and Only Murders in the Building (21).

Among the household names and previous winners to have received nominations are Meryl Streep, Selena Gomez (both Only Murders in the Building) Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon (both The Morning Show) and Gary Oldman (Slow Horses). Streep has picked up three Emmys during her long, illustrious career, Aniston has one for Friends while Oldman and Gomez have been nominated in the past but have yet to win their first Emmy.
