When De Niro and DiCaprio team up, magic happens: Every movie they starred in together
Both actors first collaborated with Martin Scorsese in 1993′s ‘This Boy’s Life’ and reunited again for ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ in 2023.

The partnership between Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio is undoubtedly one of the most captivating in the entertainment industry. Both actors possess unique charisma and acting ability, making them some of the most respected figures in Hollywood. When they come together, their synergy is undeniable, and they have proven to form a duo worthy of a critically acclaimed film like ‘Killers of the Flower Moon.’
De Niro’s performance in the film earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 2024 Oscars. Although he lost to front-runner Robert Downey Jr. for his role in ‘Oppenheimer,’ De Niro’s portrayal of his character is one of the standout performances in the movie.
De Niro and DiCaprio united by three projects
The first time the duo worked together was in 1993 when DiCaprio starred in ‘This Boy’s Life,’ which is based on the memoirs of Tobias Wolff. The film follows DiCaprio’s character, a boy affected by his mother’s relationship with his cruel stepfather, played by De Niro. They both worked under the direction of renowned filmmaker Martin Scorsese.
The same director again opted for DiCaprio and De Niro in 2015, being the protagonists of a comic short film with which they had to promote a casino in China, titled ‘The Audition,’ along with another famous face from the big screen: Brad Pitt. They all appear in the production playing fictional versions of themselves as they compete to appear in the director’s next film.
Last year ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ brought the pair back together again, with their casting one of the film’s major attractions, in addition to Lily Gladstone, who was nominated for Best Actress. In total the film was nominated for ten Academy Awards, including Best Picture but failed to secure any. De Niro was nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
