Fans can’t wait to delve deeper into the life of Jerrod Carmichael, them already knowing much about the stand-up comedian who has also dabbled significantly as an actor, writer, and filmmaker. But then there are others, those who don’t have much of a sense of who he is or what he represents, and they will likely see comments on social media that will draw them into his new HBO reality show.

What is Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show about?

As you’ll witness in the trailer for the show below, Jarrod is aiming to be as real as it gets in front of the cameras. Then again, he does admit that “being honest is cool until you have a reason to lie.”

And one of the aspects of the 36-year-old’s life that is touched on in the short teaser which will no doubt provoke a flurry of reactions, is the challenging conversation he has with his religious parents about being gay, leading to his mother praying with him for God to take away his desires.

When does Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show premiere?

As I mentioned above, Carmichael’s new show will be exclusively on HBO Max. It will premiere on 29 March and brings us an insight into some of the situations that he said may never have been seen had it not been for the creation of the series. It has been described as a darkly funny documentary series about the star’s tumultuous quest for love, sex, and truth. If that’s your thing, tune in at 11 p.m.
