Bad Bunny made his WWE return on Monday night, and he didn’t disappoint as the Puerto Rican appeared in the final segment of the show.

Bad Bunny match announced for Backlash

The singer got his revenge on Damian Priest after he was chokeslammed through the announce table during his most recent Monday Night Raw appearance back on April 3.

Bad Bunny got in quite a few shots on Priest with a kendo stick, and the Judgement Day member was forced to retreat to the back as a result.

However, the singer delivered his biggest surprise for the close of the show. Originally slated to host WWE Backlash on May 6 from his native Puerto Rico, Bad Bunny announced that he’s no longer hosting the event.

Instead, he announced that he will be facing Priest in a Street Fight instead. It marks Bad Bunny’s first ever WWE singles match, and it certainly will be a big occasion given it will take place in San Juan.

Bad Bunny’s match comes as a surprise

Bad Bunny was originally announced as the host of WWE Backlash which takes place on May 6. It mark’s the company’s first pay-per-view in Puerto Rico since Elimination Chamber back in 2005.

Triple H had even played down the possibility of seeing the artist in a match during the post-WrestleMania press conference.

“I will say this about Bad Bunny: Puerto Rico is coming. If he wants to be in that ring, he’s just gotta… he has my number, we talk,” said Triple H.

“If he wants to be in that ring, he’ll hit me up and I’m sure we’ll make it happen. But he’ll be there one way or another, he’s hosting it. It’s going to be a blast.”

However those plans have clearly changed, with recent rumors claiming Bad Bunny could team up with Rey Mysterio and face Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest in a tag team match.

Instead, one of the world’s biggest recording artists will now compete in his first ever singles match.

He made his WWE debut in 2021 at WrestleMania 37, where he actually fought alongside Damian Priest, defeating The Miz and John Morrison.

Bad Bunny also made a surprise appearance in 2022, making a brief appearance at the men’s Royal Rumble match. In that match, he eliminated both Dolph Ziggler and Sheamus.
