Taylor’s a “huge” Post Malone fan

Regarding her new album, Swift recently revealed that the lead single will be “Fortnight,” a collaboration with Post Malone.

“I’ve been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever. I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on Fortnight.,” she shared on X.

Who is Post Malone? What was his first song?

Austin Richard Post, better known in the music industry as Post Malone, began his career on the internet as a video game vlogger. With a solid fan base established, Post attempted to transition into music under the pseudonym Leon De Chino, releasing his debut single, “Why Don’t You Love Me?”

The single garnered ridicule on social media due to its music video. However, this only served as motivation for the artist to continue working on his music. After completing high school, Austin moved from Texas to Los Angeles, California, in pursuit of opportunity. It was there that he met rapper FKi 1st, with whom he rented an apartment. Subsequently, he changed his stage name to Post Malone and, after working on a few beats, uploaded his first rap single to SoundCloud: “White Iverson.”

This single would change his life forever.

The song received praise from none other than Mac Miller himself and earned him a contract with Republic Records, under which he released his first mixtape, “August 26.” Thanks to the internet, Posty’s fame reached unimaginable heights. In 2016, he became the opening act for Justin Bieber’s “Purpose Tour.” In the same year, he released his debut studio album, “Stoney.”

Currently, the multifaceted singer boasts five studio albums: “Stoney” (2016), “Beerbongs & Bentleys” (2018), “Hollywood’s Bleeding” (2019), “Twelve Carat Toothache” (2022), and “Austin” (2023), along with this new collaboration with Taylor Swift, which is expected to break records on streaming platforms.
