Who is the Kim Kardashian lookalike on the cover of Drake’s new single?
After the rapper used a sample of Kim K’s voice in the song, fans were shocked to see a lookalike ‘Search & Rescue’ on the cover
It turns out that the Kim Kardashian who appeared with Drake on the cover of his new single ‘Search & Rescue’, released on Thursday, was actually just a look alike.
After sharing a snippet of his single last week, at the time called ‘Rescue Me’, a sample of Kardashian’s voice was heard, saying, “I didn’t come this far, just to come this far and not be happy,” speaking about her then-impending divorce from Kanye West, with whom Drake has feuded with.
Who is the woman on the cover?
TMZ has confirmed that the woman on the cover, who bears a striking resemblance to Kim K, is actually an artist named Lilah.
Lilah is an artist from East London, who released her first album in 2021 called ‘Atlantis’.
While many fans believe there was no way that Drake would actually invite the ex-wife of his on-again-off-again friend and music collaborator Kanye West to pose with him, many saw the combined actions of using her voice and her doppelgänger as instigating a new feud with his fellow rapper.
“Drake added a sample of Kim Kardashian on ‘Search & Rescue’ and she approved the clearance to troll Kanye holy,” said one user.
“Drake knows exactly what he’s doing with that pic,” tweeted someone else.
What started the feud between Kanye West and Drake?
Back in 2018, Drake released the song ‘In My Feelings’, with lyrics that were believed to be referring to Kim Kardashian, West’s wife at the time.
In the song, Drake talks to someone called “Kiki”, which is also Kim Kardashian’s family name. It has since been confirmed that the song is about one of Drake’s exes, K’yanna Barber.
But West still took offense to the song.
“The fact that it’s people making rumors or thinking that you -—-- my wife and you not saying nothing and you carrying it like that, that don’t sit well with my spirit,” he said at the time.
