YoungBoy Never Broke Again, better known as NBA YoungBoy, has once again found himself entangled in legal troubles. On Tuesday 16 April, the rapper, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, was arrested in Utah, where he has been confined to house arrest for over two years awaiting trial on federal gun charges. The latest arrest, shrouded in mystery, has left fans and the public questioning the circumstances surrounding it.

What charges does NBA YoungBoy face?

According to inmate records from the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, YoungBoy faces a total of seven charges. These charges range from drug and gun possession to identity fraud, presenting a concerning array of legal woes for the rapper. Among the charges listed are procuring or attempting to procure prescription drugs, possession of other controlled substances, possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, a “pattern of unlawful activity,” identity fraud, and forgery.

This recent arrest comes on the heels of federal prosecutors accusing YoungBoy of violating the terms of his house arrest by allegedly using drugs. Court documents revealed that despite warnings from supervising officers, YoungBoy remained noncompliant and expressed no intention of ceasing his behaviour. However, beyond the charges laid out in official records, details regarding the circumstances of YoungBoy’s arrest remain scarce. Neither his attorney, James P. Manasseh, nor the Cache County Sheriff’s Office has provided further insights into the situation. Bail has not yet been set, and there is no indication of a pending criminal case or an arraignment hearing.

When is NBA YoungBoy’s trial?

Scheduled for trial in July, YoungBoy’s legal proceedings hit a snag when a federal judge decided to pause the case pending a Supreme Court ruling on a significant gun-control matter. This decision could have substantial implications for YoungBoy’s defence strategy and potential conviction.

Where is NBA YoungBoy being held on house arrest?

Throughout his time under house arrest, YoungBoy has been confined to his Salt Lake City mansion, a situation that his legal team argued was detrimental to his mental health. Despite pleas for leniency, including requests to allow him to travel to a recording studio for work purposes, these appeals were largely denied by the court.

With the future appearing somewhat uncertain for the rapper, each development, as with the various complexities of his legal predicament, make understanding his outcome harder. This has his fans nervously awaiting further updates.
