Located in the heart of France’s Loire Valley, this 15th-century castle features a moat, chapel, stables, garages, storage buildings, and agricultural facilities.

A medieval castle more than five centuries old is for sale for $1.7 million
Some deals make you stop and think, Wow... I should buy that. A medieval castle in the Loire Valley certainly feels like one of those rare finds.
After all, who wouldn’t love a 15th-century castle? Complete with its own moat, private chapel, stables, garages, storage buildings, agricultural grounds, hidden nooks, historic woodwork, frescoes, magnificent windows, and even a printing press, it has all the ingredients to become the crown jewel of a boutique hotel, the venue for lavish six-figure celebrations, or the ultimate vacation rental.
The asking price? About $1.7 million. And there’s always room for negotiation.
According to Sophie Linhart, the real estate agent at Daniel Féau overseeing the sale, the castle “stands as a living testament to our national history.” The estate’s nearly 30 acres of gardens and woodland offer much more than a glimpse into France’s past. They represent a classic French lifestyle.
Originally built during the Middle Ages, the castle evolved over the next four centuries through a series of additions and renovations. Among its notable features are an intimate mid-16th-century chapel with stained-glass windows and 17th-century towers incorporated into the home’s foundations. Situated between the historic cities of Angers and Tours, the property offers a peaceful and secluded setting for both residents and visitors.
The nearest village is just 5 miles away, which also means the closest neighbors are more than 5 miles from the estate. Paris can be reached in approximately two hours by train.
Still not convinced? The castle features 20 rooms spread across three floors, including 11 bedrooms and two dining rooms. The property is surrounded by nearly 30 acres of gardens and woodland, with trees that have stood for centuries. There is also an option to purchase an additional 30 acres of forest.
