American moves to Spain and finds out the difference in Amazon deliveries: “Still getting used to this”
A TikTok user explains that if you order from Amazon, they don’t leave the package at your doorstep if you’re not home.
Whenever we travel to another country, we are surprised by the differences compared to our own. If just a few days are enough to notice the variety in other places, imagine what it’s like to move abroad permanently. The differences become more noticeable, and the surprises even greater.
This is exactly what happened to TikTok user @wonderfullyale, an American who moved to Spain and shares her experiences on the social media platform. In one of her videos, she explains the difference between Amazon’s service in Spain and the U.S.
“I used to order Amazon, and it would get dropped of at my front door. But here you have to be home to recieve the package, or you can pick it up at a pickup point of your choice” she explains.
In the video, she shows the bus ride she takes to collect her Amazon package. In Spain, pickup points are often local businesses such as stationery stores or call centers. Because of this, when she arrives to pick up her package around 2:00 PM, she realizes that many stores close at that time for the afternoon break, meaning she has to return later to get her package.
“I just left the pickup point. I was able to just give them a QR code, and then they scanned, and they had my package ready,” the woman concludes.
