Bank opening hours on Christmas Eve and Day 2025: Citi, Wells Fargo, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs
Most major bank branches will be closed on Christmas Day but December 24 is not an federal holiday.

Christmas is just around the corner, a period of rest and relaxation across the country. Schools are out and the vast majority of workers will have some time off to look forward to.
However that also means that there will be some disruption to the usual services that we take advantage of every day. One of the most affected sectors is banking, with widespread closures around the holiday period.
Here’s a look at the listed Christmas hours for some of the nation’s biggest banks...
When will Citi be closed for Christmas 2025?
Christmas Day (Thursday, December 25, 2025): Closed all day — Christmas Day is a Federal Reserve bank holiday and Citi branches do not operate on federal bank holidays.
Christmas Eve (Wednesday, December 24, 2025): Open with reduced hours — Christmas Eve is not a federal bank holiday but Citibank branches typically close early, with hours varying by location.
When will Wells Fargo be closed for Christmas 2025?
Christmas Day (Thursday, December 25, 2025): Closed all day — Wells Fargo branches close nationwide for Christmas Day in observance of the federal banking holiday.
Christmas Eve (Wednesday, December 24, 2025): Open with reduced hours — Wells Fargo branches generally operate shortened hours on Christmas Eve, although exact times vary by branch.
When will JPMorgan Chase be closed for Christmas 2025?
Christmas Day (Thursday, December 25, 2025): Closed all day — JPMorgan Chase follows the Federal Reserve holiday calendar, meaning that Chase branches will be closed on Christmas Day.
Christmas Eve (Wednesday, December 24, 2025): Open with reduced hours — Christmas Eve is not a federal holiday but Chase branches typically close early, with branch-specific schedules.
When will Goldman Sachs be closed for Christmas 2025?
Christmas Day (Thursday, December 25, 2025): Closed — Goldman Sachs observes Christmas Day as a holiday, meaning offices are closed.
Christmas Eve (Wednesday, December 24, 2025): Not a retail banking day — Goldman Sachs does not operate consumer bank branches. Internal office schedules may include early closures depending on business unit.
As a broad rule of thumb, all banks and the vast majority of businesses will be closed on December 25 because it is a federally mandated bank holiday. Christmas Eve hours are discretionary, meaning that there will be variance between banks. At the very least, however, expect a change in hours on Christmas Eve.
