British TV channel’s welcome gift to Trump: A highlight reel of his greatest untruths
While the rest of the UK media does its best to suck up to Donald Trump, there is one television channel that can see through the orange fakery.

As the rest of the mainstream media in the UK, along with the government, quiver and pander to the oncoming storm that is Donald Trump, one channel remains that still has a backbone.
Let’s be fair: Channel 4 is not the only outlet unafraid to blast Donald Trump for consistently lying, endangering people, trashing laws, tightening his authoritarian grip on society, and promoting his quasi-fascist views. Independent outlets such as Zeteo and Novara are doing the same.
But Channel 4 is mainstream. It’s number 4 — shockingly — on everyone’s television set. And it remains the only one of the legacy gang to have the cojones to criticise the leader of the free world as he treats their country like an extension of Disneyland.
Channel 4 is set to air a show titled Donald Trump v The Truth, in which they will show “over 100 untruths back to back, with each extensively fact checked.”
I’d even argue that the description doesn’t go far enough. The word ‘untruth’ sounds too Orwellian and even deflects blame; ‘blatant, pointed lie’ would be much more accurate. Everything from eggs to immigrants and cats and dogs will be dissected by the show.
In a world first we will broadcast over 100 untruths back to back, with each extensively fact checked.

Ian Katz, the channel’s chief content officer, said: “Donald J Trump loves making history. So on Wednesday Channel 4 will do just that: we’ll show what we believe to be the longest uninterrupted reel of untruths, falsehoods and distortions ever broadcast on television."
“We hope it will remind viewers how disorientating and dangerous the world becomes when the most powerful man on earth shows little regard for the truth,. And if President Trump cares to watch along after the state banquet, he may even clear up a few misconceptions.”
In fact, what’s even more astonishing is how the editors have cut down Trump’s lies to just 100: The Washington Post wrote a piece in 2021 entitled ‘Trump’s false or misleading claims total 30,573 over 4 years’. They are certainly not short of material.
