Buck Supermoon live: watch the biggest full moon of the year
Buck Moon live
Here's the supermoon rising over Buenos Aires. If you head about an one hour and 15 minutes into the feed, you'll see the moon first appear.
When the moon rises over the US we'll have footage.
This is a good feed of the moon this evening, with a focus on tracking our satellite with a telescope.
Why is it called a Buck Moon?
The Buck Moon is named after male deers, or bucks, which right now are at the peak of their powers as they grow their antlers ready for the rutting season in the early autumn.
This moon is also known as Feather Mounting Moon, Salmon Moon, Berry Moon, Raspberry Moon and Month of the Ripe Corn Moon, all taking their names from natural processes that occur during the summer months.
All the information you need on how to see the Buck Supermoon. The moon is full at 2.38pm ET, but in the US it will still be below the horizon, so wait till just after sunset and look southeast to watch it rise spectacularly into the sky.
