Dan Buettner, longevity expert: “If you walk, swim, or jog every day, you can add more than three years to your life expectancy”
The health professional emphasizes the importance of daily physical activity, prioritizing racket sports.

As the years go by, health care becomes an essential concern for many individuals who, in an effort to extend their lifespan and enjoy those extra years, turn to the internet in search of tips and tools that can help.
In this context, Dan Buettner, a longevity expert, has established himself as one of the health professionals most dedicated to this cause. The 65-year-old American recently shared an important message with his followers: “Daily physical activity can be a key element in extending our lives.”
Buettner explained, “If you walk, swim, or jog daily, that can add more than three years to your life expectancy.” He stressed the importance of exercise, noting, “Everyone knows that physical activity is good for life expectancy. However, not all sports contribute the same number of years.”
He went on to identify the sports most likely to boost longevity: “The activities that add the most years are those that involve a racket. For example, badminton can add about six years to life expectancy, while tennis can add more than nine.”
“I think the sport that adds the most years to life expectancy is pickleball. It’s a racket sport, but also easy to learn and highly social,” Buettner said, emphasising that the real benefit comes from practising it regularly.
