The owner of social media site X, Elon Musk, has opened up on his feelings regarding the recent incident which saw former President of the United States, Donald Trump, become the victim of a shooting at a rally in Pennsylvania.

Trump was attending a presidential rally in Butler when shots were heard coming in from his right hand side. Amidst screams and confusion, the former leader was quickly told to ‘get down’ by Secret Service agents, who piled on top of him in an effort to protect him from the incoming fire.

Musk fuels fire of ‘deliberate’ conspiracy theory

However, despite their efforts, Trump was indeed hit by a bullet, which appeared to skim his right ear, with images showing the Republican’s face bleeding as he was led off the stage and into the armoured vehicle close by.

Despite the efforts from the Secret Service, Twitter owner Elon Musk was not happy, writing shortly after the incident that it was “extreme incompetence” that led to the shooter being allowed the chance to fire towards Trump from a nearby roof.

As well as insulting the work of the security agency, Musk also suggested that the failure to protect Trump quicker could well have been “deliberate”.

“Either way, the SS leadership must resign”, he added in his critical tweet.

Musk continued to give his thoughts on Twitter in between a series of retweets which were all pro-Trump, with one user even labelling the photo (above) of the former President as “biblical”.

The Tesla owner gave his support for Trump, writing that “I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery”. The businessman was taken to a nearby hospital for examination; it was later determined that he suffered no serious injuries.

The assailant, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from the local area, was killed by Secret Service agents seconds after firing his AR-15 semi-automatic rifle.
