On March 13, 2013, the sky over Rome turned white for the election of Pope Francis. He became the 266th Pope on a list led by Saint Peter, who began his papacy around the year 30 A.D. He remained in that post until the morning of Easter Monday 2025, when he passed away.

Fast forward to Thursday, May 8 (2025) and on the second day of the Conclave, white smoke bellowed into St. Mark’s Square to confirm that the 133 cardinals had elected a successor to Pope Francis.
